 * மகிழுந்து - car (it's sad that we don't use this beautiful tamil word in our daily life)

Who we are !

Who we are! There are so many identities we wear. To name a few, religion, caste, country, ethnicity, skin color, language etc. Is it okay to accept these and stand seperated?

Well, there are certain things like skin color, country and language, that are natural identities. You may go to the US, speak English better than an american ( ! ), still you are of Indian origin; something that you can not change. You may be as fair as few of our Bollywood handsomes, still you are a 'Black' there. Those identities are natural, you can not change. It was neither your choice to be born as Indian nor you chose your skin color/mother tongue. These identities makes no big damage inside the country.

Ethniciy, lets the surgeons worry about it. I think this word is useful only in medical contexts when organ transplantaions are planned and looking for compatibility. And people also not very much bothered about this.

The main problem areas are religion and caste. Imagine our Nation that looks beyond religion and caste. There still would have been Babri Musjit visited by every Indian. Jammu-Kashmir would have been a nice tourist spot accessible for every Indian. No caste politics. No clashes. No bombs. No Terrorism. To simple put, it will lead to a stronger India.

People should be willing to embrace a common virtual religion, Indianism. I said virtual, as it is not practically possible. The politicians want humpty number of religions and castes to be present in this country; they still follow British's "Divide & Rule". I know without community certificate you are non-existant. Just you can not get away with that. Let that be only in the paper. Let the change begin from each mind of ours, by simple gestures and small steps.

Lets not put the caste name or family name that tells which community you belong to.(I think we have almost got rid of this, at least in most of the Tamil nadu). Lets not deliberately flaunt our religion identities.(be it 'cross', 'sacred yellow thread' or 'burdha'). Lets not name our kids that reveals religion. Lets not keep our Gods photos in the halls of our homes.  These things often remind us about our religion and caste identities than our community certificates! Lets leave those unwanted baggages behind and have a hassle free journey, Life.
